Artist's Comments
The second part of that series I was doing. It's a chipping sparrow and the lineart was sitting around for months, waiting for painting. It was originally intended to be a dark eyed junco, but I felt like painting a chipping sparrow.... so I did. Even though it kind of looks like more of a chipping/house hybrid male. I improvised on the hind end, yes.
I HATE the scan. The bird looks a lot redder than it should... in person you can see a lot of different values in the feathers rather than just that red. I'm rather happy with the original.  |
